Grace Feng Fang Juan is a writer and director who tells stories shaped by the migration experience, memory, and the spaces in between. Born and raised in Guangdong, China, she moved to Australia after university and found herself constantly shifting between languages and cultures. This fluidity informs her work, which explores identity, belonging, and the quiet tensions of cross-cultural life.
Her ACCTA-nominated bilingual comedy series GIRL, INTERPRETED was praised for its sharp wit and authentic portrayal of the multilingual experience. She also developed her first play, 100 DAYS, with support from Melbourne Theatre Company’s First Stage and Cybec Electric programs.
Grace wrote, directed, and produced BELONGING(S): CHINESE STORIES IN AUSTRALIAN MUSEUMS, a documentary series on Chinese Australian history, which was broadcast on ABC Australia and is available on iview. She also directed two episodes of the comedy web series PLAUDIBLE DENIABILITY.
In 2023, she was selected for a director’s placement on NEIGHBOURS, supported by VicScreen and Fremantle Media, where she later directed two blocks of the long-running series.
Grace is currently adapting 100 DAYS into a feature film and is always excited about new creative collaborations.
